We’re starting off the first Monday of November with the Dreamwalker, a creature of waking world that cares only for the sleeping world. I built this creature to work off the theme of this week, backgrounds. This creature can give the players a glimpse into their backgrounds with its attacks. I think that this creature is great for roleplay moments, and it makes for a pretty fun fight. I hope you enjoy and come back Wednesday for a piece on Xanathar’s background tables.
Lore
The monstrous black chitin creature of the night spends its time in the waking world feeding on those of the sleeping world. Dreamwalkers are fey that use the emotions that mortals have during dreams as sustenance.
Cruel Appetites: The Dreamwalker’s feeding is dangerous, harming or even killing those that it feeds off of. The Dreamwalker does not care for those it feeds on and will move onto the next person if its current meal expires. The favorite meal of the Dreamwalker are nightmares, which it induces, even if it kills the target.
Shielded Minds: Dreamwalkers are powerful creatures that can manipulate the minds of most creatures. With their strength came the fear of such powers being used on them, and so they used their psychic abilities to shield their minds.
